About the lecturer

Fr Bryan N. Massingale, PhD, is a priest of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and holds the James and Nancy Buckman Chair in Applied Ethics at Fordham University in New York, where he is Professor of Theological and Social Ethics and also Senior Ethics Fellow at the Fordham Center for Ethics Education.

Fr Massingale is a leader in the field of theological ethics, past convener of the Black Catholic Theological Symposium and a former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Christian Ethics and serves on the editorial board of Theological Studies, one of the premier Catholic journals of theology. He has also served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Moral Theology and the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics. He is the recipient of three honorary doctorates and held the Bernard J. Hanley Chair in Religious Studies at Santa Clara University. In 2009, he received the highest Award for Teaching Excellence at Marquette University.
